How scoring works
Points per match
Every match pick can earn points from four components. They stack β a perfect pick scores up to 21, a 5β miss costs 6.
Winner
Β±βPick the winning team. Rewards ramp up steeply with Confidence so you can climb back out of negative ground. Get it wrong and a penalty applies from 2β upward β 1β is the safe "no idea" pick. A tie scores 0.
- 1β +20
- 2β +4β1
- 3β +6β2
- 4β +8β4
- 5β +12β6
Example: Confidence 4, winner correct β +8. Same pick wrong β β4.
Margin of victory
+2Match the winning margin bucket: 1β6, 7β13, 14β20, or 21+. Flat +2 if it lands in your bucket.
Example: Final margin 11 β bucket 7β13 hits β +2 points.
Exact final score
+5Optional. If both team scores match the final result exactly, +5 β on top of everything else.
Example: Picked 24β17, final is 24β17 β +5 points.
Off / Def coin
+2Pick Offense or Defense. Offense hits if the winner scores β₯ 32. Defense hits if the loser stays under 17. Flat +2 either way.
Example: Final 26β16 β only Defense fires (loser < 17, winner < 32). Defense pickers: +2. Offense pickers: 0.
Per match
+21 / β6 pts
Best case: 5β winner (12) + MoV (2) + exact score (5) + off/def (2) = +21. Worst case: 5β winner wrong = β6.
Season tiebreakers
- 1. Most points.
- 2. Most exact-score hits.
- 3. Fewest graded picks (rewarding efficiency).
